One day there was a  alien his name was Jack.He was 6 and  he wished that he could be a Astronauts.so when he was 22  he was  working on something? Amazing.After that his friend came over his name was John. He looked at the back of the yard  and all he  saw was a big Rocket ship.Then all jack  needed was a suit so he made two suit with melt and then they both  waited unto it was dark and then they both counted down 3 2 1 .Then they went blasting of into space they were both happy.but then they ran into rocks one of the biggest rock came to  the ship and then the big rock smashed the booster out of the rocket later that time.The Rocket ship was slowly rolling around. but then Jack and John went to go and get the boosters. And they put it back on the Rocket and went flying  all the way to planet Marshmallow.And they saw other plates like plant cheese ball,plant pizza and he saw the whole galaxy and stars and he was the first one on planet marshmallow.so he placed the flag down and he was happy.

the sun

sun is the largest star in our solar system.The earth is the right distance from the sun.So our planet is not hot or to cold the light of the sun takes 8 mins to reach earth.and gives life to plants. astronauts never be  able to land on the sun it is much to hot.

Matariki and the seven stars

We made a tamarereti video  to celebrate the seven matariki stars.I hope you like it. 

Tamarereti

A long time ago  in the deep dark sky there were no stars. In Lake Taupo there was a taniwha who always came out to hunt people.Then a young man called Tamarereti was hungry and his belly was rumbling so he got his waka and set off. Tamarereti caught three large fish and put them in his kete. The wind stopped blowing and he was tired so he had a little sleep on his waka. Suddenly the wind awoke and pushed his waka on a beach. Tamarereti felt a little bump. He found himself at lake taupo.

He lit a fire and cooked his three large fish.  After that  he knew that the taniwha would eat him so he woke up and gathered as many pebbles as he could have in his boat. Then he put them in his waka. He jumped in his waka and went out to the middle of the ocean and threw the pebbles up into the sky and then they became stars. Suddenly a glowing face came to him. His name was Ranginui. Then he said thank you for saving the sky. Now the scary taniwha won’t come after the people.       

fairy bread

On Thursday after morning tea Miss Davis told room 14 that we were making fairy bread First we  washed  our hands  with soap and then we got gloves. After that we all got a plastic plate and  a plastic knife. Then the teacher gave as bread. the bread smelled like peanut butter.And it looked like a diamond. After that  the teachers gave as some butter but  the best part came were we got to  put star sprinkles and little sprinkles then we put them on   our  bread.after that we all got star cutters and they were made for matariki. so we had to cut them into stars.and then we got to eat it.And it tasted sweet buttery  and crunchy.Then we saved some for home.and then we packed up.
