Prize giving 2019!

Last night on the 6 of December was the senior prize giving. If you don't know what prize giving is well it's something where you get awards for doing stuff for your school and sports and some other stuff. But I didn't get an award but my brother did Hopa, He got a great effort certificate and a lolly Lei.  In my classroom Cora and Jordan got the awards and I felt happy for them.  No one in my class got 100% attendance but Fifita got 98% so she was the closest.  We have dances to show our school and we were first ones to show our dance and our songs where The Woah,good mood,I don't care, No Americano and baby it's you and as you can see I put the songs in order. Then we did more and more certificates and dances but that was the best night I ever had and well done to all those new 2020 leaders  and all those people who got prizes and well done the the two sportsman and one sports-girl. Thank you Miss Va'afusuaga for giving me the lolly leis at the end. My favorite part was our dance  because me and my friend went hard out.

WWE The Lighthouse (=

^^On one very fun day. I was going for a trip to see my grandad.
But the only problem was that he lived in the middle of the ocean and to be honest that
is far far far away. Because we lived in australia and where he lives is one the other
side of the world. This distance is about 392 km (244 miles).

 But were we super lucky because we could take the helicopter and we could
take the boat I was soooo excited. But I could only choose one to go to my grandads
lighthouse so I picked the helicopter because I might get eaten by a shark or possibly a
bigger animal. 

So the day that I was going to go was Tomorrow so I packed and got ready.
It was the next day and I was very excited because I could see my grandad
so I took a taxi to the
airport and booked my flight. A couple of hours later I was off I ducked down
and counted to
3 1,2,3, 

and when I looked up I saw the ocean It looked beautiful the water looked super clear
and you could
see some tropical fish and dolphins going up and down over and over again but as we went higher
we saw a group of whales all together the water was glistening when you went higher. 

But I saw my grandad looking up and waving at me I was so happy. When we landed I
hugged him and
went inside I said bye to the helicopter and ate some food and that was the best ride
I have ever done…..

Welcome to beautiful Hawaii.

On one very hot day I was taking a plane to Hawaii.  I waited until the next day that I was leaving,
I Brang  my Dog he was a

American Pit Bull Terrier and his name was Chew because he liked to chew on stuff.
It was the next day when we were leaving,

 Then Someone Rang me up and said that my plane was cancelled  but.. You could
take the helicopter I was relieved and fought

I wasn’t going to Hawaii. I walked to where my detestation is and saw my ride so I 
jumped in the helicopter and lifted my dog

up and we were in the Air.

I Looked down out the window and we were already over the water, It looked like a teal blue
when we got down a little  bit and

you could see dolphins jumping up and down and followed up. My dog spotted some tropical fish
because the water was super clear.

When we got to Hawaii I was so happy because My Nan was waiting all that time
for me and then we took a photo next to 

the beautiful waves and the beautiful sunset.

Family finds 2m snake living in their roof

A family was surprised to find a 2 metre long boa constrictor in there attic,
That had likely been living there for two to four years.

Adam van der Herchen had been hearing noises coming from the attic and spotted a snake through
an opening in the ceiling at his home in Englewood, Florida.
Animal Control arrived at the home twice but were not lucky to remove the snake both times.

Officers told the family it was likely a diamondback rattlesnake.

Snake expert, Mark Lampert, then came to remove the snake. Lampart found snakeskin in the attic,
After a two-hour search, Lampert located the snake and removed it, discovering it was not a rattlesnake but
a Columbian red tail boa constrictor.

Immersion Assembly

Immersion Assembly

Where? Pt England school, The Hall.

Why? Because it was the first day of school.

What? Immersion assembly. 

When?In the Morning, At 10’00 clock.

Who? Pt England school, Teachers, Parents.

How? Korero, Inquiry

Question. What are we going to do today?.

In the Morning, at 9’00 clock The whole of Pt England School Went to the
hall to do an immersion assembly. But we did it because it was the first day
of school and we needed to do our Korero and our Team movies. 

What Is your favourite type of dancing or Movie? Comment your favourite
dancing or Movie Style? 

First Mr Burt welcomed the school with a chee hoo and a fakalofa lahi atu
and he was wearing this funny colourful Afro wig and these huge big gold
glasses he looked like a funny actor clown.

Next Mr Jacobson and Mr Burt sang a song and acting to be the people
in the song, The song was Is it Kind, is it True, is it Necessary and my
favourite part is when Mr S pretend to be Delia with his cool scooter and
he was pretending to go to Eketahuna.

Soon we will be watching the Movies for the rest of the term and for our
animation but we had a talk with Mrs Tela and she said that This week
was Niuean Language Week and that people can dance for  Niuean
Language Week to celebrate.

During the talk, it was finished we all got excited and Mr Burt said “First
Movie is Team 1” Team one’s movie was about Cinderella The Teachers
were dancing and fighting like drama Queens and they all fought that the
Prince will accept there dancing but they were actually Wrong and that was
the end.

After we watched all the teams movies we all clapped  and we all liked the
Teams movies they were funny and they were all great dancers but my
favourite teams movie was team 3 because miss MMoran had great dancing
and Mrs Teleso dancing was cool Mrs Gaston and Mrs Carter looked like a
mirror that was the best bit.  

Later that time we all went over the Term Korero and we said Fakalofa lahi
atu as loud as we can Mr J Remix song turned on we all were playing at the
end of the assembly.

Finally, we all started heading out and it was hot and stuffy inside and when
we went outside it was really cold.

Then we went back to our classroom and we had a talk with our teachers
and learning at the end.

        

Cross Country

Yesterday was Cross country and what we did on cross country was running. After lunch we walked to the courts were all the netball hoops where, And heaps of the Pt Englanders got dressed into there house colours, Blue, Red, Green and yellow. When we were not running we sat on the ground and waited until Mr S called our team up and we were waiting to line up waiting for him to say ready to get set and smacked the Two blocks 

Together. We watched the year 1-4 until it was our turn When it was our turn to run Mr S said to come up and line up between these two orange cones and when we were ready he smacked the two Blocks together and made a big noise. We all jogged halfway or we could run the whole way if you want to.

Once we finished our run we got a 250ml water bottle that was at the end of the race and then we sat down and cheered the rest of the people on and it was the year 6-7-8 that was running. When we got back into the classroom we watched a movie and layed down and relaxed our feet. When we finished the country stuff we did the usual thing that we do every afternoon and when the 3:00 clock bell rang we all grabbed our bags and went back home.

What I learnt was that we always have to use our feet and it was so fun hanging out with my friends while jogging and I am ready to learn and go do the real cross country. 

Camping WWE

     Camping 

One chilly day I went camping with my friend Mele and we camped at the winter forest in the north pole and it was easy to get there because we lived in a little cabin that was really cold. We packed our stuff and we headed out into the forest. Once we got to our location we saw this long staircases that lead to light we were wondering if it was just a house that got old and rusty so we didn't care much about it but there was a good place to camp. We went under the staircase and we did our tent but then we activated this lever that appeared to come from the glowing house we came out of the tent and saw this massive house on the top of us we stuck our hand in the house and it felt weird because it felt like I was touching a door handle so we opened this door and we walked through. It was a massive house with fire and photos we lived until we were done.  

Petra the dog WWE

Back in the day in 1999 we had this dog named Petra and he would always do something that was out of the ordinary he would poop inside and he will sleep outside but he will have a pillow inside and it was kinda weird, but my dad makes these weird inventions but they still worked so I asked my dad if he could make  the dog go smarter he was confused on the question that I said but he said yes he make the dog go smarter and I was so happy. So I waited and never stopped waiting but then I heard this big BANG in the garage I ran to him and then I saw my dad with Petra and Petra was talking to me in a weird way but there was only one way to see if he’s gone smarter he had to do my homework and of course he was smarter than me and when he was finished my homework he went to this piano that we had since I was little and he started playing the piano. My mouth dropped and I ran to go get my mum and dad. when they came in the room there mouth dropped to I grabbed my mums phone and started recording when I record it I posted it on Facebook and it went viral he got 18.k likes in 1 month. I was happy he started being in movies,shows and he became a star but in 2016 he died because he was getting old but he had a son that was 12 years  old in dog years but in humans years he was 4 but soon Petra’s son will become a star and he will shine bright.

Museum Trip

This week on Tuesday some of the people at PES went to go on a museum trip With Mrs Lagitupu. At what we did in the museum was doing virtual reality and some of us were doing robots and I was in robots. What we had to do in robots was that we had to discuss if we are doing the deep ocean or we are doing the rocky shore,And we choose the rocky shore. The people that were in my group was Fifita,Allay,Kamryn,Finau and Jane who was Allyas mum. We choose the rocky shore and we had to draw a Starfish,Mussel,Crayfish,Crab and an Octopus on a iPad.once we did our drawings we printed them out and then we made a maze that was shaped as a starfish. After we did that we controlled the robot with an iPad and when were done we record it and Thank you Mrs Lagitupu and the helpers for taking us to the museum!

Wacky car

Today my class made a wacky car. And my car is about speed and strength

One pouring day I went to school and I slipped  over on my head but then I had this weird dream. My dream went on a camping trip to see this mysterious cave for a school trip Once we got there on a bus we all set up our tents and we went exploring,But when me and my friend saw this cave and we were wondering if we should go and check it out. So we came into the cave and we saw this ugly old train that had vines on it we had goosebumps when we were  staring at the train, But when we looked closer we saw these beautiful green leaves that looked like a garden. We were walking through the track and while we were walking through the track we heard birds chirping and footsteps running around and it felt like I was going to fall asleep.But when we were at the end of the trail we saw this note that said That in 1988 this train was born and It has been there for over a million years and it said that 5 million people have died on that train.I was really scared but I was too scared so I popped out of my hospital bed and I was lucky that I was not there for real life.

Food chain narrative

Once upon a time me and my friends went to go sit on the rocks to feel the water and my friends names are Mele and Kamryn and plus there was heaps of lovely stuff there so we put our jackets on and headed to Pt England Beach.  Once we got there, me and My friends went to sit on the rocky shore and saw nothing came out of the water and you can tell something was going on. So I jumped into the water without taking my stuff off and saw at the bottom of the rocky shore was no algae I was shocked and it felt like I was going to drown so I swam back up and tell my friends everything so we had to do something about it.  We were wondering why the fish had died but my friend Mele finally figured it out and she said “ That because it was winter the suns not there to feed the algae and the algae is dead so the fish are dead to and maybe the starfish are dead and the octopus and the fur seal are dead to. So me and my friends had to think fast, we had an idea we were thinking maybe we can use filament to make a coral reef and wait for the algae to grow on the coral reef and the algae will have energy to make our fish healthy again so we all got to work. I was the one who was going to draw the coral reef and my friend Mele was going to get the filament and my other friend kamryn was going to ask her boss if she can use the 3d printing machine But to be honest it was hard to do all that work in 5 days but we were able to manage it.  Once we were able to get the machine we all carried the bits of coral reef underwater but when we tried lifting it and it was heavy so I asked my brother if he can help us carry it into the water we carried it in the water and it worked we were waiting for the fish to come out of the water but my friends told me that we should go home and come back tomorrow so that is what we did. When we got home I had a shower before I went to sleep and I was so curious to see what was going to happen. The next morning me and my friends went diving to see if the algae was growing, Then what we saw was amazing we saw the algae and we saw pauas growing onto the rocks. we were so happy when we saw that and paris the paua was happy now and we did a good job.

Slimy taste test!

Slimy taste test

On Monday  Morning Room 9 did something special with Mrs Sio. 
Mrs Sio told us some rules and the rules where To Find a buddy and my
buddy’s name was Mariko. We used my jumper because I wanted too and
with the jumper you have to put it on your Eyes and  you or your buddy can
put it on you, After that, you have to wait until you have a napkin in your
hand or you buddy’s hands and when everyone has there napkins Mrs Sio
will put a Cockroach in your napkin.

Once you have it in your napkin your buddy that has it’s blindfold on will
eat it and its legs are cut off and it’s shell to so we good with that.

I had the blind fold on first.

So is was kinda scary because if I was going second I  would know
What it looks like And I will see my buddy’s reaction So I was pretty terrified.
But when I got The cockroach I was pretty scared because all I heard was
People going Eww but  I just stuck it into my mouth and chewed and chewed
and chewed and I even had to block my nose and it was still yuck and the
feeling was squishy and soft and even slimy when i just finished chewing it 
tasted like a raisin so I told My Teacher If this was a raisin.

And she said yes and I felt better!

Crabs

We had to pick a sea creature and do research about and what I chose was a crab!

Animal Facts:   Octopus

Dietary: Fish,Starfish,algae,crabs,snails,slugs, Shrimp and small fish	Habitat: Under rocksand  and in a tiny cave and if it were in an aquarium it will live under small little gaps
Life span:  An octopus can live up to 3 or 5 years And if a female gave birth to babies the 1mother will die	Appearance: Their tentacles look like curls and they kinda look like an umbrella.
Characteristics: -Octopus are different to other animals because they have 3 hearts. - They have 9 brains, 1 is in the head and the others are in it’s tentacles  - Octopus can camouflage but they are colour blind.	Size: The longest octopus is up to 14 to 30 feet long And the smallest octopus is 1.5 cm
Locomotion: Octopus has two ways to move they can use their arms to move around when there hunting and when.The second one is when they the force of the water  squirting out pushes the octopus along, allowing it to swim backward through the ocean. This is called jet propulsion.	Sensing: Smelling and seeing.

Interesting Facts: 1. Octopus has 3 hearts because Two hearts pump blood  to the gills and the heart in the middle will go into the rest of the octopuses body! .  2. Octopuses have blue blood so they can survive in the deep ocean.  .3Also octopuses have 9 hearts one heart is in the middle and the rest of the hearts are in the octopus tentacles so octopus tentacles have a mind of their own.  4.They can also camouflage.  But scientists are still working out how they can octopus can camouflage but they can’t see colour and plus they are colour blind.

Seeing Capital E

Today me and my classroom were going into the hall to see capital E and capital E stands for Education

and Entertainment. And the peoples names where Hannah,Sepe and Nina and what I liked about them
is that they are funny kind and really happy. What I liked about today was the song called eat yourself
and my 2 favourite part was when Nina was speaking in Maori and Mr J I really like your acting.

Today I was doing some factions!

Totokia

Today Julius showed us his Totokia which means club in Fiji.He decided to show room 9  something that means a lot to his family and He told us what you use the Totokia for. You can use the Totokia in a war, there are three parts of the Totokia. The giant bit is for aiming on the head,The sharp bit is for going into the skull.Under the giant bit is the part were you can slice someones neck open,Julius grandma made the Totokia out of oak wood and carving for 1 to 3 days maybe.
